My Artwork of the Week

Mary I and Philip II of George Perfect Harding

"Portrait of Queen Mary I and his consort Felipe of Spain "

This work is attributed to George Perfect Harding and dated in the nineteenth century. It is a painting done in pencil and watercolor with white gold. It was sold in 1999 at Christie's auction house for £ 2,300.

This painting is a copy of which was Antonio Moro of the couple in the Abbey Woburn in Bedfordshire. Normally the painting was attributed to Hans Eworth, but not at all sure that it was.
